Dr. Oliver Kelkar (45) is responsible, since the start of the year, for Product and Innovation Management (P&I) at MHP. MHP aims, with its innovation area, to embrace new technologies and market potentials and harness these for their customers.
Dr. Oliver Kelkar: "The automotive sector is currently undergoing a huge transformation: global shifts in the markets, vehicle connectivity, mastering product complexity and variety and the increasing environmental requirements with regard to products and their production are just a few examples of the challenges the market is currently facing. This far-reaching process calls for new ways of thinking, demands new business models and necessitates efficient processes, which are consistently secured by IT."
MHP wants to support its customers in mastering these new challenges with visionary services and products. Interdisciplinary innovation teams, consisting of Service Unit managers, Competence Center managers and P&I, are currently developing - amongst other things - approaches for the meaningful use of In-Memory technology in the automotive environment and practical applications for vehicle connectivity.
For Dr. Oliver Kelkar, who holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, this new role as Head of Product and Innovation Management is a return to familiar pastures. During his time as a research fellow at the Frauenhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO), between 1995 and 2004, he was already involved in further developing scientific trends into marketable innovations with added economic value. Dr. Kelkar joined MHP in 2004, where he has held different roles. Dr. Kelkar is an Associated Partner at MHP since 2012.
