MHP has purchased a dealer management system

Flexible dealer solution to meeting future challenges

MHP has, since September, procured all rights for the SAP-based dealer management system (DMS) CARBON from S&T Deutschland GmbH. The dealer solution was developed in 2005 for German multi-brand dealerships by the consultancy firm IMG from St. Gallen, Switzerland.

The DMS system supports and integrates all business processes, which arise in the trade with vehicles and parts as well as in the workshop business – including financial accounting and controlling. The solution is in use since 2010 at large Mercedes dealerships, e.g. the 15 centres of the Fahrzeug-Werke LUEG AG.

"We are currently experiencing that larger dealerships are, in particular, replacing their outdated IT systems and are - in this connection - falling back on standard solutions", says Dr. Markus Kirchler, Member of the MHP BoM. "We decided to invest in the very mature and flexible system CARBON to be able to support the dealerships in this change. We can advise the dealers and offer them a rapidly implementable template solution from a single source and thus realise a high added value for them."

Peter Caracciolo, Associated Partner at MHP adds: "We believe CARBON is the right tool here, as the dealers and sales networks of the leading OEMs will obtain an optimal business platform for the future with this DMS system. This will allow them to be always able to call all information at the right location and closely link their processes with those of the manufacturers."

MHP will, in the future, maintain and further develop the dealer management system CARBON and adjust it to the changing basic conditions in this business. We also offer a template package, which contains all services for an individual and rapid software implementation at fixed conditions.

"According to our experiences, DMS projects often fail because dealers do not have the time and capacities to fully implement a solution from a technological and organisational perspective. Our CARBON package should provide relief in this connection", says Dr. Markus Kirchler.

Furthermore, we are working together with partners such as SAP, LUEG Business Consult and WEGOS on an offer whereby Mercedes dealerships or service outlets would not have to install the software locally on their servers, rather could access it via the Internet. It is also planned to offer this as a "hire" model with all the required services and support (Application Service Providing, ASP).
