The "Initiative Mittelstand" (German Initiative for SMEs) has awarded the process and IT consultancy firm, Mieschke Hofmann und Partner (MHP), the IT INNOVATION PRIZE 2012 for its business app "Augmented Maintenance Manager". The MHP business app is thus one of the leading products from the over 2500 submitted applications.
The 9th IT Innovation Prize was awarded this year by the "Initiative Mittelstand" under the patronage of the federal commissioner for IT of the German Government and IBM Deutschland GmbH. Prizes are, in this connection, awarded on an annual basis to innovative and interesting solutions, which are particularly advantageous and have a high functionality for all SMEs. The submitted products and solutions were evaluated by 100 independent jury members, consisting of sector experts, scientists, IT specialist editors and professors from the respective specialists areas.
The MHP business app "Augmented Maintenance Manager" was awarded the title "BEST OF 2012" based on the following criteria:
- Innovative content: Originality, product maturity and future orientation
- Benefits: Recognisable advantages, effect on profitability, increase in efficiency
- Suitability for SMEs: Relevance for SMEs, feasibility, implementation
The MHP business app AMM combines innovative user experience with the core processes from prodution and maintenance; it thus offers an up-to-date overview on the core of a company, namely the production and machinery. The app displays - due to the direct connection - the current machine status, which allows you to react in realtime to faults or preventative maintenances as part of overall maintenance. The most important live KPIs are displayed due to the complete integration of the MHP application with the manufacturing execution system (MES, here SAP ME/MII).
The MHP application is supported by an innovative user interface concept. A comprehensive 3D model displays the plant and machinery. The model from the 3D program can be taken over at the push of a button, interacted with in 3D form and interactively linked with the business data due to the MHP innovation framework. Value-adding processes and a revolutinary operating concept thus combine to form an innovative application.
