After the first two games of the new season, the MHP RIESEN are in 3rd place in the current BBL standings. In the first game of the season, the RIESEN had a commanding win (83:75) against the "Eisbären Bremerhaven" (Bremerhaven Polar Bears). The team of head coach John Patrick put in a very good performance in front of 3350 delighted fans. The MHP RIESEN immediately took the lead 6:0 and didn't relinquish it for the rest of the game. RIESEN captain and point guard Michael Stockton had, in particular, an outstanding game. The top points scorer of the game was Gregory Echenique with 22 points.
The MHP RIESEN also put in another good performance in the second game of the season against the newly promoted RASTA Vechta team. The RIESEN were 3 points ahead at the end of the second quarter. The game became more intense again in the last quarter, while the many interruptions to play made things difficult for both teams. Our MHP RIESEN held their nerve until the end and thus ensured their first away win of the season.
We hope that our MHP RIESEN and all the fans have a great game and soak up the inspiring atmosphere next Wednesday, 09.10.2013, at 19:30 in the MHPArena when we will be taking on FC Bayern München.
