MHP publishes book on Electric Mobility

Mobility of the Future

In 2009 the black-red "grand coalition" of the time formulated an ambitious goal: Germany should become a leading market for e-mobility, by 2020 there should be one million electric cars on the roads in Germany. Very little has happened since then. Roughly 19,000 electric vehicles were registered at the start of the year. Then the debate gained momentum. In summer the law on promoting the purchase of electric cars came into force. The sales figures did not increase considerably since then.

Having said that, electric mobility is part of the future – not least because the fossil fuels are finite. But at the moment it is unclear how technology and the market will develop in the foreseeable future. The authors of the book "Elektromobilität" addressed this issue. The book was published by the management and IT consultancy firm MHP, Siemens, and the University of Pforzheim. In a total of seven chapters experts from science and industry discuss key aspects of electric mobility: from changes in the automotive market to the recovery of brake energy through to concepts for a higher range.

Fabian Kehle, expert in the area of product and innovation management at MHP and co-editor of the volume: "The debate on electric mobility is often argued on a very emotional level. With our book we focus on the facts and critically analyze where we stand, what challenges still need to be overcome, and what opportunities are available. We interpret this as an invitation to players on the market – to manufacturers, suppliers, and dealers, but also the country too. We also want to reach interested car buyers, who deal with the opportunities and consequences of mobility."

The "Elektromobilität" book is published by Springer Fachmedien Munich (ISBN 978-3-574-60028-9, 248 pages, 39 Euro incl. VAT). Fabian Kehle is happy to personally answer any questions on the publication and on the topic of electric mobility (e-mail fabian.kehle(at)mhp.com l Tel. +49 (0)151 20301406).
