The key to the project’s success lies in MHP's integrated end-to-end consulting approach. This includes modeling the global role and process design, translating it into an appropriate technical design, implementing the entire SAP SuccessFactors suite, and handling the associated change management.

Intelligent role and process design

A well-thought-out global role and process design based on MHP best practices laid the foundation for the technical implementation early on. A key factor was the clear definition of roles and responsibilities to ensure optimized workflows and to outline the future collaboration model within the company. This was always done with a focus on the later ability to map roles and processes in SAP SuccessFactors.

Flexible and future-proof technical design

With a robust technical design, MAN Energy Solutions SE and MHP aligned SAP SuccessFactors perfectly with the agreed-upon role and process design. This ensured that MAN Energy Solutions SE would not only benefit from the new system in the short term, but would also remain agile and future-proof in the long term. A key factor for the successful integration of process and system was the well-coordinated collaboration between the MHP consultants from HR transformation and SAP SuccessFactors, along with the MAN Energy Solutions SE project team, which included HR and IT experts.

Rapid implementation thanks to proven MHP frameworks

The technical implementation of the requirements was based on the MHP Fast-2-Success approach. By applying this SuccessFactors best-practice system to the MAN Energy Solutions SE test system, a functioning SuccessFactors landscape was already in place at the start of the implementation. This was then modified based on the results from role, process, and technical design. The technical consulting services provided by the system architects in the project also included the customization of the HR IT landscape. This included integrations with SAP HCM and Active Directory, as well as a connection to IAS/IPS.

Change management & training

MHP's integrated end-to-end consulting always includes the key factors of change management, training, and communication. 

The focus was on the employees of MAN Energy Solutions SE to ensure that they were familiar with the new processes and technologies. 

Involving them in the change process and offering targeted training programs increased employee motivation and acceptance, ensuring that the transformation was both sustainable and transparent.

With MHP, MAN Energy Solutions SE has made its HR ready for the future.

The rapid integration of the SAP SuccessFactors HR management system simplified processes and increased transparency in a short period. Thanks to the additional focus on change management, the new system was quickly accepted.

Implement the SuccessFactors suite in 18 months – in Germany and Switzerland

MHP and MAN Energy Solutions SE implemented the entire SuccessFactors Suite in Germany and Switzerland in just 18 months. This success is due to the agile development and implementation process. In the first phase of the project, the following modules were successfully launched:

  • Recruiting
  • Onboarding
  • Learning Management

MAN Energy Solutions SE was already reaping the benefits of the transformation during the second phase:

Due to its importance, the People Analytics Reporting module was part of both phases of the project.

After the go-live of SuccessFactors, MHP continued to support MAN Energy Solutions SE as a trusted advisor. MHP's subsequent takeover of the Application Management Service (AMS) ensured a seamless transition from project operation to day-to-day business.

One template – one solution for all locations

MHP laid the foundation for the standardization of many HR processes at MAN Energy Solutions SE. The resulting global template has proven itself at the two locations in Germany and Switzerland. The next step will be the global transformation, in which the SuccessFactors Suite will be rolled out to other countries.
