Even if the current situation is a challenge for many companies – now is precisely the ideal time for setting up forthcoming transformation projects in a structured manner and for preparing the necessary adjustment of the enterprise architecture for the period after the crisis. However: The enterprise architecture, i.e. the interaction between strategy, processes and IT, is often neglected by companies. Thus, in this regard the tools for efficient project portfolio management are lacking. But what's much more serious is that in many cases the corporate strategy is not consistently implemented in the enterprise architecture.

A pragmatic approach to enterprise architecture management supports the holistic consideration of the requirements made of corporate architecture. In this connection, of central importance is a framework such as, for example, "The Open Group Architecture Framework" (TOGAF), which specifies the strategic, conceptional and organizational framework by means of which the architecture is adjusted in accordance with the current challenges. This is important because transformation projects are connected with a massive intervention in the process and IT landscapes, and thus constitute a risk for the company. Implementation should therefore take place in a sustainable manner - which means starting off small and always bearing in mind the strategies, guidelines and safeguards. Only then can companies achieve real added value.

In our MHPDeepDive "Enterprise Architecture Management – now!" we will present a holistic approach to architecture that takes into account all levels in a company: from the strategy to the technology architecture. Using project examples, we will show how the method functions and how in the current situation you can get architecturally fit for the coming upturn and the future.

What awaits you in our MHPDeepDive:

  • You will find out why a holistic EAM approach is important and what added value it promises to create
  • Using project examples, we will show you how the method functions in practice
  • You will obtain an insight into how you can prepare specifically for the transformation projects after the current crisis
