MHP's parent company, Porsche AG, and the President & CEO of Porsche AG, Matthias Müller won the "Brand of the Year" and "Brand Manager of the Year" respectively in the Automotive Brand Contest 2013 at the end of this year's IAA, the world's greatest exhibition on the automotive industry. The German Design Council paid tribute "in particular to the consistent and pioneering brand management of Porsche, which has for decades gave its vehicles a simply unmistakable identity based on such attributes as durability, intrinsic value and quality."
During the award ceremony, Matthias Müller confirmed the high demands that Porsche makes of its brand: "Porsche is, above all, one thing: Premium. And that means: Top quality and no compromises. We are never happy with that, which we have already achieved, rather always want to become even better."
The extraordinary design of the new super sports car, the 918 Spyder, the current Cayman generation and the now available Panamera S E-Hybrid were also all recognised. Awards were also received for the newly designed showroom concepts for the Porsche Centres, different web specials and the customer magazine "Christophorus".
With all this talk of progress, it is just as important for Matthias Müller that the brand always offers reliability. "Our customers", says Müller, "expect vehicles that combine pure sportiness with elegance, top quality, innovative technology and suitability for daily use. And this remains our guiding principle when we prepare a model change or develop new vehicles." Porsche has been able to secure a USP in the premium segment with this paradigm in the past decades.
