Robert BOSCH GmbH received the award for fully digitalizing the physical commodity flows along supply chains, something which allows for cross-company data exchange in real time. This standardized data exchange, which has been consistently implemented for the first time at Bosch, supports - in particular - process control and thus optimizes product and supply networks in the automotive industry in a holistic manner.
The virtual mapping of the supply chains is based on the results of the RAN research project (RFID-based Automotive Network). In this pilot application, Bosch was able to increase the logistics efficiency by around 10%! For Dr. Stefan Asenkerschbaumer, Deputy Chairman of the Bosch Board of Management, changes to industrial production - also known under the keyword "Industry 4.0", are thus well underway.
We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Bosch again on being this year's winner of the VDA Logistics Award and we are delighted that MHP will play a role, with its expertise, in the further development of the RFID@Bosch Competence Center.
