Ludwigsburg, 18.05.2015 – After the MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg were this year again among the eight best basketball teams in Germany, who after a great fight just lost to the league's top team – the Brose Baskets Bamberg – in the playoff quarter finals, another great success can now be reported. Porsche Basketball-Akademie (BBA) Ludwigsburg is the new German champion in the Youth Basketball League (JBBL). In a dramatic final, our under-16 team won 62:61 against the defending champions Dragons Quakenbrück, to claim the coveted title on Sunday evening in the final in Hagen for the first time in the history of the BBA. On the way to the final, Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg knocked out the youth team of FC Bayern Munich, among others, in the playoffs. With their semi-final victory over Phoenix Hagen Youngsters, at the TOP4 at the weekend the Ludwigsburg basketball players had ensured their participation in the final.
In addition to these sporting successes, we are also pleased to note very positive development in other areas. Among other things, we have been able to increase our average number of spectators in the MHPArena to a new record of 3,959 spectators, as well as our presence in social media, to support a number of social projects – "Give racism the red card", "Assist" and "Basketball at Midnight" – and to further develop our upcoming generation, together with the parent company Porsche, both at the grass roots and at the top level.
