MHP and TransnetBW Create a Joint Venture

"Intelligent Energy System Services" promotes the energy and mobility transition

  • Joint venture with consulting competence for the interface of energy and mobility
  • Intelligent Energy System Services covers all relevant core areas of digitalization, mobility and the energy transition

Ludwigsburg/Stuttgart – On 1 June 2021, the management and IT consulting company MHP and the transmission system operator TransnetBW are to form the joint venture "Intelligent Energy System Services". The two companies, which are based in Baden-Württemberg, are thus further expanding their cooperation. MHP and TransnetBW have already been cooperating since January 2019, primarily in order to support companies and organizations on their path to the future whose business models and areas of responsibility are affected by the energy and mobility transition. In this regard, the merging of intelligent products, intelligent networks and intelligent markets in smart systems is always involved. In practice, solutions are generated such as intelligent load management to control energy requirements at industrial and commercial locations or a network-stabilizing electricity storage system in e-cars.

Dr. Markus Kirchler, Member of the Board of Management at MHP: "In the past three years, two points have become very clear: TransnetBW and MHP work together excellently and complement each other perfectly with their respective positioning and expertise. With our partnership, we are very credibly addressing the interface between energy and mobility in our core market – the mobility eco-system – and thus one of the most significant areas of action within the framework of the mobility transition. For us, the expansion of our cooperation in the form of a joint venture is therefore the next logical step."

"Since the start of our cooperation, the environment has changed further," says Dr. Rainer Pflaum, Managing Director at TransnetBW. "Firstly, in particular the younger generation are very emphatically demanding a more sustainable economy and society. Secondly, e-mobility has become significantly more dynamic. It is now important to bring the players from the different sectors together in order to create smart systems. Together with MHP, we have made this our task.“

In future, the joint venture, in which MHP and TransnetBW each have a 50 per cent stake, will act independently under the name "Intelligent Energy System Services" with its company headquarters in Ludwigsburg. 23 employees will initially work there, with the number planned to be increased to 40 employees within one year. The Managing Director of the new company will be Dr. Dominique Gross, who until now has managed the cooperation as an Associated Partner at MHP. Regarding the further development of this cooperation, he has clear ideas. Dr. Dominique Gross: "I am delighted that MHP and TransnetBW are now moving on to the next phase of their successful cooperation. It underlines the confidence in our entire team, which made this development possible in the first place."
