MHP offers an excellent career springboard

MHP starts recruiting and onboarding program JumpStart

Ludwigsburg, 09.04.2015 – The most important persons at a première at the start of April (01.04.2015) were seven university graduates. They are the first to start their careers at MHP within the framework of the recruiting and onboarding program JumpStart. This means that over the next four weeks they will together learn a great deal about the automotive sector, business processes and consulting skills – in this case focusing on the area of Supply Chain Management (SCM) – at the Nuremberg location of the management and IT consulting company.

"We usually set young consultants to work directly on projects. They are at a customer with their team already in the first week – somewhere in Germany, sometimes in another European country or even on another continent. This is what consulting is all about – there's great diversity," says Sarah Böning, Managing Professional in the Recruiting department at MHP. "With the new approach, we want to give graduates the opportunity to first orientate themselves a little and to create a solid basis. At the same time, we assume that after the month we will be able to assess more accurately which consultant is especially suited for which activities. All this contributes to ensuring the high quality of our consulting."

To guarantee this, a multi-stage selection procedure was also implemented. Approximately half of those who had applied for the JumpStart program were first invited to a personal interview in our Human Resources department. 14 applicants were shortlisted. For a whole day they were able to demonstrate their abilities in various challenges. Sarah Böning: "This was instructive not only for us, but also for the candidates, as they were able to establish whether the job of a consultant was really for them."

MHP wants to make the JumpStart program a firm component of the recruitment strategy. Other locations and departments will therefore follow Nuremberg and Supply Chain Management. Sarah Böning: "The competition to attract the best talents is becoming increasingly intense. As an employer, we must therefore offer university graduates something special. In addition to several other things, this now also includes the special type of career start. For us, this approach is also a great advantage because it makes the recruitment process leaner and allows us to compare the candidates better with each other." The JumpStart program thus creates a win-win situation: The candidates benefit from the systematic introduction to the life of a consultant, and MHP gains the best employees who are most suitable from a technical and a human point of view.
