Ludwigsburg, 20.11.2015 – With a kick-off event in Ludwigsburg, the "100 Stromer" project started yesterday (19.11.2015). The aim is to get 100 additional electric cars - fully electric or plug-in-hybrid - on the road in the three Baden-Württemberg test municipalities Ludwigsburg, Offenburg and Schwäbisch Gmünd. With this initiative, above all the attention of companies and businesses is to be drawn to the advantages of electro-mobility. MHP is taking part with vehicles in the project.
Dr. Oliver Kelkar, Associated Partner and Head of Product & Innovation Management at MHP: "As one of the world's leading consulting companies focusing on the automotive sector, we are intensively concerned with mobility in the future – also in the Smart City. In this context, electro-mobility plays a central role, as it makes a considerable contribution to the urgently required reduction of CO2 emissions. For us it is therefore only logical that we as a company want to be part of this future ourselves. The "100 Stromer" project fulfills this objective perfectly. Among other things, also because we identify closely with our main location Ludwigsburg." MHP will obtain the e-mobiles from Volkswagen. One vehicle will serve to make courier trips between the company's Ludwigsburg locations. One will be available to employees for traveling to projects at Porsche in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. With the third e-vehicle, MHP wants to test additional approaches to alternative mobility.
For example, within the framework of the "LivingL(A)B", with which the city of Ludwigsburg is implementing concrete projects on the theme of future mobility. MHP is, for example, already today working on identifying free parking spaces around the MHPArena in Ludwigsburg using radar technology, and guiding drivers to these spaces intelligently.
